These are the Days of My Life

I am a Christian wife and mother. I am a first grade teacher and could not love my job more. I balance many activites in my life and pray that it is all held together with God's love, strength and mercy.

I think I have recovered from vacation

After two doctor's visits, an inhaler, 2 antibiotics, cough medicine and some couch time, I think that I am going to make it. On the trip home from the beach, I began to feel so bad and by the next day, I barely drug myself into the doctor's office. I do not know how I became so sick while at the beach? I thought that was where people went to get better!? My voice is finally returning and I feel somewhat like my old self. This week, Hannah and I are slowing getting our acts together. We have to finish our summer reading and do marathon doctor visits this week. Where did the summer go? I am thankful for a great summer and am so blessed to have friends and family to share it with me.

Today in church

Yes, we do attend worship services on vacation. Aren't you proud? Today, the funniest thing happened while in church. Now, forgive me if this is not funny, but I think to everyone that knows me, it will bring forth laughter. (And it might be one those "had to be there moments") Many know that I have a favorite outlet store here in FL that I love to shop at to find extreme bargains. I always brag about about my bargains to my teacher friends as we sit at lunch and admire my 1.99 shoes, etc. Well, the other day on one of my many trips to this store, I bought me one of those big balled necklaces that everyone is wearing. I was so proud of my 2.99 purchase and proudly wore them to worship service this morning. Well, during church (of course during a quiet moment), Hannah and I just happened to be looking at my necklace admiring it when all of sudden the necklace breaks and all the balls fall to the floor. We quietly, but quickly, pick them up with the added help from the ladies behind us. After we had collected all that fell, I thought that there might be more on my neck under my collar. Yep, I reached back and pulled a handful of balls and put them with the others.....in my mom's purse. We were getting tickled because we kept finding balls and...... then I realized that my bra was FULL of balls that had collected during the intial fall and told Hannah of my discovery. She started laughing uncontrollably. I thought she was going to have to get up and go to the bathroom to settle herself. And after she calmed, she leaned over and whispered to me, "Mom, you will have to blog about this tonight." The moral, "When in search of a bargain, be prepared to lose your balls when you least expect it."

More Fun at the Beach

We have enjoyed fun at the Putt Putt turf and evening sunsets. This is a picture of a sea turtle that floated to shore because he was sick. The beach patrol came and rescued him and took him to a reserve until he is healthy enough to be released back in the ocean. One morning when my aunt and I were walking, we witnessed a baby sea turtle make its' way to the ocean to begin its' life. One that does not believe in God may ponder how turtles know to do this. It just reassures me of God's power. More later.. Happy Saturday!

At the beach

Well, we have been at the beach for 15 days. I have read two good books and am working on my third. It is very nice to wake up when it is cool for a nice walk on the beach. Every morning I am amazed at God's beauty and gift of the ocean. There is no other place on earth that I feel closer to God than here. After the walk I then drink my coffee with my favorite morning show, The Walton's. Do you really want to hear my daily schedule? Then head to the pool for a couple of hours before lunch. After lunch, it is beach time and then about 4:00 (my favorite part of the day) I sit by the pool in the shade with my book. Supper is in the condo with a movie before bed. I am trying to put school behind me for a couple more days. I know when I head back it will be busy, busy, busy. I miss all my friends back home and my family that could not be here. I will update more when I return home.
