These are the Days of My Life

I am a Christian wife and mother. I am a first grade teacher and could not love my job more. I balance many activites in my life and pray that it is all held together with God's love, strength and mercy.

Day Camp Complete!!

We had 49 1st-3rd grade boys this week. Loads of fun, but too many lost socks and underwear to count. The weather was much better and it was a very uneventful week. I really miss Nashville and all of my friends. Hannah's friends are older now as well and understand that we are in a different state. They are more emotional now when we leave. I am looking forward to seeing my brother Joshua and his wife, Lauren and of course baby James in Birmingham. Then off to the beach where I hope to see the rest of the nephews and niece. Now, more about leaving Nashville. I am sad because I am very close to my friends here, but I love just being back home. And I love my school. We will meet new friends, but I really cherish these.... I am very torn. Will update hopefully while I am on the beach with sand between my toes and a good book in my hand (under my umbrella of course.)

One Week Down

I arrived in Tennessee last Sunday to begin my first Day Camp session. It is a camp that I direct for the church where I used to attend. This camp has been such a blessing to me in that it has provided me with a fun time with teenagers, extra money for summer vacation and a wonderful opportunity for Hannah to visit with her old Tennessee friends. This was a very hot and muggy week. I am glad that it is over, but a little sad because I do miss my friends here. Hannah won the Energizer Bunny Award tonight. She was certainly full of energy this week being so excited; however I do not see Hannah as an endless bundle of energy. This past week was a week with 1st -3rd grade girls and next week will be the same age boys. Then, off to Birmingham to meet my brother and my newest nephew James. I will blog more later, I am very tired and ready for bed.

Here I Am!

My brother and sister-in law have encouraged me to start a blog. I hesitated because I thought that I would not be able to keep people interested. Then I began to think of all the friends that I do not keep in touch with like I should and thought perhaps this would be a great way to reaquaint these friendships. Well, here I go. You may need some coffee. This summer will like all others be a very busy summer. I began the summer by moving into a new house, then drove to Texas to visit Josh and Lauren and tomorrow I head to Tennessee where I will direct a Day Camp for two weeks at a church that I had previously attended. (I believe that was a run on sentence.) I am most looking forward to vacationing in Florida for a month in July. Aaaahhhh! During the move, I visualized the beach to get me through the miserable heat of the move. That is all for now...my dad is on his way over to help paint Hannah's room today. Busy Busy!!!
